Professional Learning Plan

  1. Wonderful Professional Learning Plan, here. I find your leadership goal - admirable. One strategy you might want to share with your teachers, as a leader, is to create a building level Delicious (Diigo, Backflip, etc) account, then share how to add, edit, and delete resources. Great way to access important web information outside of school. Two years ago I created one for the teachers at RKE - http://www.delicious.com/RobertKerr. It's also a great way to collaborate and access import bookmarks outside of the classroom walls. Would love to attend you MACUL presentation - you'll have to let me know when you plan on presenting - and I'll try to be there=8-) ~Sue

  2. Rachel,
A good reminder you had with thinking maps, to consider what types of technology are available to enhance a lesson on the related topic as well as needing to give students directions. I am much the same way with investigating technology. Although I think effective for figuring out how to navigate the program/software/application I know I have missed capabilities of different technology by not using tutorials or searching for information about the technology. Great to hear the progress you're making toward your goals. It is difficult sometimes to give up the control and let students be the ones using the technology-although often they used it more fluently than I did and could show me things I had not know before. Presenting to others what you did with digital storytelling sounds like a great way to step up and be a leader as you mentioned wanting to do!
